'The road to freedom--here and everywhere on earth--begins in the classroom.' --- Hubert Humphrey
The Middle School is one of the most important phases of school life, primarily on account of the fact that it witnesses a child’s journey through the teen age years, a time that plays a vital role in sculpting an adult. Beliefs are formed in these years and those are the beliefs that one carries in one’s adult years. It also is the time for strengthening concepts and honing the additional talents of students. Through quality educational experiences, we ensure that students grow up into productive and responsible citizens of an ever changing global society.
We strive to achieve :
☞Developing an academic mindset and mastering core academic content: A well chalked out curriculum that reinforces previous concepts and builds on them supplemented by periodic assessments. Activities for fostering scientific temper in students and supplementing classroom instructions in science for conceptual development are woven into the curriculum. Educational trips also play a vital role in the same. Class activities such as Elocution, Role-Plays and Dramatics involving all learners, give them the opportunity to hone their skills of public speaking and builds self-confidence
☞Learning ‘How to learn’: Students are taught to develop study skills and learn time management. They are also taught tenacity to achieve desired results. Regular interactive sessions with teacher mentors and experts in the field, give students the required exposure.
☞Thinking critically and solving complex problems: Hands on experiments and project based learning help in the same. They are also taught to apply the knowledge acquired to beyond the classroom situations
☞Honing the power of self-analysis: To understand ones strengths and weaknesses.
☞Developing collaborative skills: The same is fostered through team projects, presentations and games.
☞Teaching social skills: A skill that is vital in chalking out success in later years.
☞Teaching Life Skills: Home room periods are devoted to the same involving group discussions based on a pre-determined content.
☞Value Education: The students are actively involved in multiple projects undertaken by Empassion, the social service club of the school. This goes a long way in reinforcing values.
☞Developing a healthy body: All students attend compulsory Yoga classes and Physical Education classes under trained instructors for the same.
The students at the end of the three years are ready to embark upon a domain (Senior School) requiring greater maturity with focus on academics,

As the students take a leap of faith from the primary wing to the middle wing, they are welcomed by our action-packed activity clubs. A wide spectrum of activities is conducted in clubs like The Thunderbirds, The Mask, Tinkering Club, Indradhanush, TED-Ed, Prakrati, Notes and Beatz and Empassion Club. To develop self-confidence and self-esteem in the children and make them ready to take on the world, extra-curricular activities are offered and students are motivated to participate in them.
Teaching life skills helps students build confidence in communication and collaborative skills, provides them with the right developmental resources, find out of the box problem-solving solutions, gives them a way to communicate and develop relationships and teaches them accountability. ‘School Cinema’ an LXL ideas initiative, is an innovative film-based learning module that reaffirms life skills and values for students, parents and teachers. It is a ground breaking pedagogical experiment that uses cinematic storytelling and thought-provoking workbooks to address life’s challenges.
Field trips are great examples of experiential learning. Not only do they provide a way for students to get out of the classroom, but it helps to reinforce what they’re learning in the classroom and peaks their interests in education. Excursions provide an educational experience to the students as they connect with the outside world and build new bonds that stay with them forever.
Interdisciplinary learning helps students learn creatively and apply knowledge across disciplines. Interdisciplinary learning supports critical thinking by helping students understand multiple viewpoints, evaluate conflicting perspectives and build structural knowledge. Activities during such teaching sessions involve students and train them to think why things work the way they do, identify and understand the steps necessary to arrive at a solution and combine both declarative and procedural knowledge to solve complex problems.
Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok is committed to providing top-tier education, nurturing students not only academically but also fostering values like compassion, integrity, and resilience. Our meticulously designed programs like the Empassion Club aim to cultivate a sense of social responsibility, encouraging students to embrace virtues such as empathy, teamwork, and environmental consciousness. We are dedicated to shaping well-rounded individuals equipped with knowledge and strong ethical foundations.
Education not only includes academic progression but also physical and mental health along with emotional well-being. The school has a team of experienced school counsellors that facilitates the over-all development with respect to academic, interpersonal, emotional, behavioural and social concerns of the students as well as children with special needs.
The importance of sports in school education has, and they aren’t just limited to physical activities as children today choose sports as their career and it has become equally vital as academic values.
We also offer an array of sports for students to pursue after school hours on weekdays as a professional sports academy. Sports is part of the school culture- often, more life lessons are learnt on the sports field than in a classroom. We are fortunate to have a spacious games field.
Skill development helps students to think beyond grades. It helps them tap into their capabilities, develop real-life skills, and prepare themselves to be successful in the careers of their choice. It also gives them a platform to explore and learn things beyond their curriculum. Therefore, the need to provide skill-based learning in higher education to help students receive vocational training besides academics to improve their chances of better employment and a successful career.
The skills offered in VI-VII classes are Coding, Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Travel & Tourism and Mass Media and Design Thinking.
Public speaking is a great asset. The students are introduced to clubs like Mask, Indradhanush, TED-Ed and also activities which makes them feel confident in communicating, overcome the fear and anxiety associated with voicing their opinions and encourages them to improve their academic performance as well. It also enhances leadership and management skills not to forget promotion of logical and analytical thinking.
