Global issues are now a part of children and young people’s lives in ways unfamiliar to previous generations. The School, organised an exciting and fun filled five-day long excursion-cum-educational trip to Singapore for 19 students escorted by two teachers, Ms Leena Singhal (Jr HM) and Ms Sonal Khurana from May 28thto June 2nd, 2017. The Singapore journey was really exhilarating from day one as the students were all charged up to explore a new place, often referred to as ‘The Lion City’. The adventure packed five-day tour that included visits to ‘The Merlion,’ the iconic landmark of Singapore and the Singapore Science Centre, exhibiting innovative experiments and models formed a great learning experience for children. The visits to the thrilling Night Safari and the Jurong Bird Park, relaxing at Silosa Beach in Sentosa Island and the fun-filled thrilling rides at the Universal Studios were the other added attractions.
Nine students of DPS Sushant Lok accompanied by one teacher escort travelled to the USA for an educational programme to NASA and Kennedy Space Center. Besides the immense learning at the space center, the group also enjoyed rides and the sound and light show at Disneyland, the Hollywood theme park at Universal Studios, the Maid of the Mist at Niagra falls and the hustle bustle of Manhattan and Statue of Liberty at New York.
The students also got an exposure to education and life at Harvard University and MIT in Boston. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable tour that also helped the students to get a sense of the new culture and gave them an experience of a lifetime. A great learning experience indeed!
The Indo-French Exchange Programme 2018-19 took place from October 04 to October 12, 2018 at DPSSL. A team of twenty four students and four teachers Ms. Nathalie Cavagna (German teacher), Mr. Jean Yves Le Merrer, Mrs Angele Mouchot and Mr. George Mouchot from College Notre Dame in Billom, France, visited the school. The exchange programme was based on a unique project theme titled ‘Art and Artists.’ The French students stayed with the families of Indian students and learnt more about the Indian culture and way of living. They visited religious places and participated in specially organized school activities such as Bhangra Dance, language classes, Yoga Sessions, Rangoli Making, Football Match, cooking Bhel puri and Coconut Sweets and Project Discussion. Going by the wisdom of the above dictum, Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok organised an outstanding 11 day educational program covering the essentials of US East Coast for its young students. The highlights of the programme were the visit to the planet's most advanced space technology centre, the NASA at Kennedy space Centre, Orlando; a city tour of Washington DC- visiting the White House, Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial and the Pentagon; the spectacular Niagara Falls; the mesmerising world of Disney World and Universal Studios ; and finally the City-New York.
Ananya Dhanuka (XI-C) and Saumin Agarwal (XII-B) of DPS Sushant Lok, attended the Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive (IGEI) summer programme at Lehigh University, USA. It was a 4-week long course from 1st-28th July, 2018. While at IGEI, students attended classes on Business, Entrepreneurship and Leadership.
