Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok commemorated India’s 76th Independence Day, on 12 August 2022, with patriotic zeal and fervour. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Major General Pramod Saighal (retd.) and Pro-Vice Chairperson Ms. Meenakshi Singh Pathania was the Guest of Honour.
The event commenced with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Central Lawn, which saw the flag unfurl to the National Anthem, followed by the cultural celebration in the school auditorium.
Principal, Surender P Sachdeva in his address, exhorted the future generation to live a life of honesty without ‘entitlements’. He paid homage to the great freedom fighters of our country who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country.
A captivating rendition of poetry, music and dance performances to celebrate 75 glorious years of our Independence marked the occasion. Continuing the spirit of festivities on the auspicious occasion, the Scholar Badge Achievers and Gold Medalist of Grade XI (session 2021-22) were felicitated by the Chief Guest and the Principal. The Chief Guest left the audience spellbound with his tales and experiences of his tenure in the Indian Army.
The special occasion culminated with a captivating dance celebrating the love for our motherland followed by the Vote of Thanks by Senior Head Mistress, Ms. Renuka Bhasin.
