A WEEK OF LITERARY WONDER – WORLD BOOK DAY

“A book is a dream that you hold in your hand.”
                                                              — Neil Gaiman

In a spirited celebration of the written word, Delhi Public School Sushant Lok - Gurugram observed World Book Day on 23rd April 2025 through a vibrant celebration that unfolded over an entire week. The school curated an exciting array of literary activities such as “Guess Who Am I?”, book quizzes, book talks, story weaving, quote writing, reading challenges, and much more.

A special highlight of the week was the recognition of budding authors. Students had the opportunity to read and appreciate poems and stories written by their peers, and even interact with these young writers to learn about their creative processes and inspirations.

A spirited energy filled the air as students excitedly shared thoughts about their favourite books, characters, authors, and poets. The school also observed DEAR Time (Drop Everything and Read), a quiet yet profound moment when both teachers and students immersed themselves in independent reading, celebrating the imaginative worlds that books open up.

To further enrich the literary atmosphere, a vibrant book fair was organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Development, offering students a chance to explore a variety of genres and build their own reading wish lists.

The celebration served as a joyful reminder and underscored the idea that reading not only fuels imagination but also inspires excellence—both in school and in life. It was truly a week seeped in stories that sparked creativity and rekindled the lifelong joy of reading.
