Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok-Gurugram, inaugurated the much anticipated Maharaj Hari Singh Memorial Annual Football Tournament 4.0 on 27th January 2025. The tournament, running from 27th to 30th January, is poised to capture the spirit of young athletes. With over twenty-six teams and more than four hundred and fifty talented players, this prestigious four-day event promises to be a thrilling sporting spectacle. During the inaugural ceremony, the school had the honour of welcoming Shri N.K. Singh, IAS (Batch of 1964), the founder patron and revered mentor who is also celebrated for his monumental contributions to public policy and governance. Addressing the gathering, Shri Singh lauded the legacy of Maharaj Hari Singh, highlighting how both victory and defeat impart the true essence of honour and success. Ms. Meenakshi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Sushant Lok-Gurugram, DPS Kangra, DPS Kota, the Tribhuvan School-Patna, Tribhuvan College of Environment and Development Sciences affiliated to Nalanda University – Neemrana also graced the occasion along with other guests of eminence.

The event commenced with a floral tribute to Maharaj Hari Singh of Jodhpur, the revered maternal grandfather of Ms. Meenakshi Singh. The Ceremonial March set a unified tone, filled with pride and energy, followed by a welcome address by our National Archery Achiever that ignited the spirit of sportsmanship. The crowd was further captivated by the Football Anthem, and a dance performance by the young performers from Apple Blossom, an Early Learning and Daycare Center. The showcase concluded with the spectacular Drill-Harmony in Motion before the Inaugural Match marked the exciting start of the tournament.

The tournament promises to be a riveting display of skill and determination, paying tribute to a legacy that continues to inspire.
