“Celebrate what you’ve accomplished but raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed.”

Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok organized its Annual Scholar Badge Ceremony for class IX on 29 October 2022. The Scholar Badge ceremony is an integral tradition of the DPS Fraternity, instituted to recognize students for their scholastic as well as co-scholastic excellence.

The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Ms. Anjum Chopra, Indian former cricketer and current cricket commentator. The function commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Celebrating the students’ perseverance, dedication and success, the school dance group presented a dance recital on Ganesh Vandana. Scholar badges were awarded to meritorious students for their accomplishments not just in academics but also in various Interschool competitions and Olympiads. The budding innovators of the school were celebrated through the ‘Innovation Award’ category. Another highlight of the day was the ‘Sports Awards’ category dedicated to our Chief Guest, a highly acclaimed Sportsperson.

Principal Mr. Surender Pal Sachdeva, while congratulating the recipients of the scholar badge, emphasized the significance of the 3H’s (Hardwork, humility and honesty). After the Award Distribution Ceremony, the Chief Guest, Ms. Anjum Chopra, appreciated the ‘Sports Awards’ category. She exhorted parents to help students make a career in sports. Ms. Chopra shared anecdotes and cherished moments of her school life emphasising how Sports has come a long way.

The event culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Senior Head Mistress, Ms. Renuka Bhasin, wherein she applauded the collective efforts of the parents, teachers and students in making this a memorable occasion .
