Delhi Public School Sushant Lok hosted the inaugural ceremony of the Inter DPS National Table Tennis Girls Tournament on 19 July 2025. With 22 schools across India, competing for the championship spot, it reinforced values beyond competition—unity, respect, humility and character development. The ceremony began with a warm welcome to the guests, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over darkness.
The teams from the participating schools performed an impeccably synchronized march past, which set the tone for a competition grounded in teamwork and sportsmanship. The solemn oath taken by the teams, pledged to uphold the values of fair play and respect for the rules of the game.
In her address, Principal, Ms Aparna Magee emphasized the vital role of sports in education—encouraging focus, perseverance, and integrity. She also highlighted the core principle- Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships. By formally declaring the event open, she gave the tournament an official start, signally each team to put their best foot forward.
As the curtain fell on the first day of our tournament, every one of the 22 teams performed with commendable spirit, energy, and sportsmanship. Each match was fiercely competitive, and it’s clear that talent and dedication are alive and well in the arena. We eagerly await an equally exciting Day Two—may tomorrow bring more thrilling contests and camaraderie!
