Delhi Public School Sushant Lok–Gurugram celebrated its 19th Investiture Ceremony on 11 July 2025, with great dignity and joy. The event marked the formal induction of 67 student leaders into the Student Council for the academic session 2025–26. Gracing the occasion was Chief Guest, Maj Gen Pankaj Saxena, VSM (Retd), a decorated Army officer and veteran of key operations and UN peacekeeping missions. He was joined by Ms. Meenakshi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Sushant Lok, DPS Kangra, and DPS Kota, along with proud parents and enthusiastic students.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a vibrant musical welcome titled Jugalbandi. The highlight was the Pinning of the Badges, where the Head Boy, Aaryan Parveen; Head Girl, Annika Kapur; and other council members were adorned with sashes and badges, officially assuming their roles. The council then took the oath of office, led by the School Principal, Ms. Aparna Magee. While addressing the Council-elect, Maj Gen Saxena, VSM (Retd), called upon the young leaders to uphold integrity and commit themselves to selfless service. In his characteristic reflective style, he remarked, “A true leader must be visible in action, heard in purpose, and felt in presence.” The Head Boy and Head Girl also shared affirmations of commitment and purpose. Adding to the celebration, Yamuna House was awarded the Best House trophy for 2024–25.
The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Principal, Ms. Aparna Magee who expressed her deep appreciation to all stakeholders—students, teachers, parents, and staff—for their unwavering support and commitment. In her address, she urged the student leaders to stay grounded and collaborative, reminding them to always believe in the powerful dictum: I am, because we are.
