On November 26, 2024, Colonel’s Central Academy School organized an enlightening workshop at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi. The event brought together educators from across the region, including Ms. Savera Dayal, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Ms. Punya Bhasin, PGT Psychology, from Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok.

The day commenced with an inaugural session by Mr. Keshav Singh, who introduced the Project Paradigm initiative of the ICTRC. This program aims to empower schools to address prevalent challenges such as aggression, violence, bullying, and addictions. Mr. Singh emphasized the vital role of teachers as counsellors within the framework of guidance-based education. He shed light on the unique needs and concerns of post-millennial students, advocating for a teacher's dual role as an educator and mentor.

This was followed by an engaging session titled ‘Design Thinking in Education: A Practical Framework for Vocational Guidance’, conducted by Prof. Nien Siao and Prof. Nidhi Gupta of Ecole Intuit Lab. Their session explored innovative strategies to integrate design thinking into vocational guidance programs effectively.

The afternoon featured an insightful online session by Mr. Aditya Nair on Dimensions of Guidance. He underscored the importance of guiding students constructively and elaborated on the scientific processes involved in career counseling, types of tests suitable for schools, and the essential services a comprehensive school guidance program should offer. He also highlighted the qualities of an effective counselor and the need for collaboration between teachers and the counseling department.

The concluding session, presided over by Mr. Keshav Singh, delved into the organization and administration of school guidance programs. He provided a detailed framework for training parents to support their children at various developmental stages. Additionally, he shared practical strategies for efficiently addressing academic and behavioral concerns in schools.

The workshop successfully fostered a stronger connection between counselors and teachers, paving the way for a collective effort to benefit students holistically.
