The Middle School is one of the most important phases of school life, primarily on account of the fact that it witnesses a child’s journey through the teen age years, a time that plays a vital role in sculpting an adult. Beliefs are formed in these years and those are the beliefs that one carries in one’s adult years. It also is the time for strengthening concepts and honing the additional talents of students. Through quality educational experiences, we ensure that students grow up into productive and responsible citizens of an ever changing global society.

We strive to achieve through our Curriculum:

  • Developing an academic mindset and mastering core academic content: A well chalked out curriculum that reinforces previous concepts and builds on them, supplemented by periodic assessments. Activities for fostering scientific temper in students and supplementing classroom instructions in science for conceptual development are woven into the curriculum. Educational trips also play a vital role in the same. Class activities such as Elocution, Role-Plays and Dramatics involving all learners, give them the opportunity to hone their skills of public speaking and builds self-confidence.
  • Learning ‘How to learn’: Students are taught to develop study skills and learn time management. They are also taught tenacity to achieve desired results. Regular interactive sessions with teacher mentors and experts in the field give students the required exposure.
  • Thinking critically and solving complex problems: Hands on experiments and project based learning help in the same. They are also taught to apply the knowledge acquired beyond the classroom situations.
  • Honing the power of self-analysis: To understand ones strengths and weaknesses.
  • Developing collaborative skills: The same is fostered through team projects, presentations and games.
  • Teaching social skills: A skill that is vital in chalking out success in later years.
  • Teaching Life Skills: Home room periods are devoted to the same involving group discussions based on a pre-determined content.
  • Value Education: The students are actively involved in multiple projects undertaken by Empassion Club, the social service club of the school. This goes a long way in reinforcing values.
  • Developing a healthy body: All students attend compulsory Yoga classes and Physical Education classes under trained instructors for the same.

The students at the end of the three years are ready to embark upon a domain (Senior School) requiring greater maturity with focus on academics.

Activities for fostering scientific temper Students are encouraged to learn through hands on activities with kits .It results not only in conceptual clarity but also fosters self learning, self motivation and collaboration. Students also independently explore scientific concepts and show case their learning in science exhibitions.

Fostering a love for History This is achieved through educational trips to historical monuments with various organizations to explore the culture and heritage of India. Participating in Model United Nations, a simulation of the UN, helps in promoting critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Developing expertise in languages Special care is taken to enable students develop expertise in languages. The activities involve creative corners to fuel the creative streak in learners. Class activities such as elocution, role-plays and dramatics encourage learners to develop their skills of public speaking and story writing.

Honing numerical abilities Strategies used for the same include periodic reinforcements to consolidate learning, activities in the Math Lab and Math Exhibitions wherein students explore varied mathematical concepts.

Value Education Students participate in various activities undertaken by Empassion Club, the social service club of the school. These activities include activities as collection of food grains for food banks, collection of winter wear for the underprivileged, conducting classes in schools for the underprivileged students, visiting old age homes and bonding with the senior citizens there, etc.

Life Skills through cinema Nurturing life skills is an important part of the school curriculum. It helps students to be successful after school for independent living. School Cinema is a film-based module that makes learning lessons of life an entertaining experience. It reaffirms life skills & values for students, parents and educators through award-winning films and engaging activities. As a ground-breaking pedagogical experiment, School Cinema is making a difference in how school students are learning lessons of life. Classes are conducted every week to equip learners with Life Skills through cinema. The module also includes classroom discussions and activities to be done in workbooks.

Media Literacy (same pic as in the website) Regular classes are held in collaboration with CHINH India. Students participate in film festivals where they don the hats of the jury in addition to having their films screened. Films prepared by students of Media Literacy are showcased in CHINH India channel.

Activity Clubs Various activity clubs such as Public Speaking and Dramatics Club, Handicrafts Club, Math Club, Heritage Club give students the opportunity to explore and pursue varied interests other than academics.
