Shri B.K. Chaturvedi ( IAS, Retd.), Chairperson

Shri B.K. Chaturvedi (IAS, Rtd) is an eminent Indian Civil Servant who has risen to the highest position in the Civil Service as the Cabinet Secretary and has made major contributions in policy making and its implementation. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan on 7th April, 2010 by the President of India for his outstanding contributions in the field of civil service. In recognition of his work in the field of Public Administration, Shri Chaturvedi was conferred with Honoris Causa (D.Sc.) by Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) on 5th April, 2012.Currently, Shri Chaturvedi is serving as Member, Planning Commission of India and heads Energy and Transport division in the Planning Commission. He is responsible for addressing policy issues concerning power, petroleum, railways, road, road transport, shipping ports, inland water transport and civil aviation for improving efficiency and making these sectors more responsive to the present and future requirement of India. Earlier Shri B.K. Chaturvedi was appointed Member of the 13th Finance Commission (Nov. 2007). As Cabinet Secretary, he was also Member of the Atomic Energy Commission and Space Commission of India. Shri Chaturvedi has written several papers in the field of public administration and governance. He has travelled extensively and represented India in international fora, including Boards of UNICEF and UNDP.

Ms. Vrinda Sarup, Vice Chairperson

Ms. Vrinda Sarup is a retired IAS officer of the 1981 batch, who has served as secretary, to Govt of India in the Dept. of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resources Development, and in the Dept. of Food and Public Distribution. Ms. Sarup has worked in the sector of Education for over 23 years both at the Central and State Govts, where she has experience both as an implementer and policymaker. She has been closely associated with the formulation and implementation of some of the most significant national programmes of the District Primary Education Programme and the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for elementary education and the revised Vocational Education Programme at the secondary/senior secondary level.  She was Secretary in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Human Resource Development. Her key area of specialization has been in the Social Sector.

Ms. Meenakshi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson

Ms. Meenakshi Singh, is an educationist with the spirit of a pioneer and a far-reaching vision. She brings to the school a wealth of administrative experience and a well proven skill set. Hailing from an illustrious family of educationists, she is the daughter of Mr. N.K Singh, former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. Driven by a desire to extend quality education across all levels right from the pre-primary level to the tertiary level, Ms. Singh embarked upon the mission to create a beautiful school for the little children called Apple Blossom in 2011. Encouraged by the success of these DPS Sushant Lok and Apple Blossom, she set up The Tribhuvan School in Patna, Delhi Public School in Kota, Delhi Public School in Kangra and Tribhuvan College, Nalanda University Centre, Neemran. Her dream is to offer a complete educational journey to students by opening institutions of higher learning in the near future.

Mr. N.K. Singh ( IAS, Retd.), Member

Mr. N.K. Singh (IAS, Retd.) is a prominent administrator, policy maker, renowned politician, economist and has chaired the Fifteenth Finance Commission. A man of many accomplishments, he has been elected as the president of Institute of Economic growth (IEG) recently. He has to his credit, a wealth of national & international experience and has been decorated with the ‘Order of the Rising Sun-Gold & Silver’ in 2016, the second highest Japanese civilian award for his exceptional service in the field of international relations. He is a former member of the Rajya Sabha and a former Finance Secretary and Member Planning commission. Mr. Singh was a member of the Upper House of Indian Parliament from 2008-2014. Mr Singh has also served on several Parliamentary Standing Committees and has handled important portfolios and public offices. Mr. Singh was teaching Economics at the prestigious St. Stephens College, Delhi prior to joining the Indian Administration Service, and he continues to lecture at eminent universities like Columbia and London School of Economics. He is also a reputed columnist in leading Indian dailies.

Dr. Hari Krishan Paliwal (IAS), Member 

Dr. Hari Krishna Paliwal (IAS) is an esteemed officer of the Indian Administrative Services. Besides serving as District Magistrate in a number of districts in Uttar Pradesh, he held various important assignments in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Government of India, including that of Chief Secretary to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Presently he is an advisor to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, holding the rank of a cabinet minister. He advises the government on major socio-economic and infrastructure development issues. Earlier, Paliwal was an advisor to Shri Rajnath Singh, when the latter was the union home minister. Dr. Paliwal served in the Indian Forest Service before joining the IAS. With Ph.D. in Botany from Delhi University and MBA from University of Queensland, Australia, he was a lecturer in Botany in Delhi and Garhwal University .He is an ardent nature lover and has authored a book on Ornamental Gardening.

Mr. Sanjay Kaul ( IAS, Retd.), Member

 Mr. Sanjay Kaul ( IAS, retd.) contributes significantly to the society as a senior civil servant. Mr. Kaul’s noteworthy areas of expertise have been Education, Child Development, Food and Commodity Markets, Urban Management, Industries, Health and Nutrition. Enriched with diverse experiences, he has worked as Commissioner Health and Secretary, Medical Education. His other assignments in the government include both field level posts such as District Magistrate at Bangalore and Tumkur, as well as head of government bodies/departments in Urban Infrastructure, Industries, Water Supply and Sanitation. In addition to these roles, he also worked in the Prime Minister’s Office. Mr. Kaul has actively engaged with financing agencies and has led negotiations for raising both equity and debt from global institutions such as World Bank, IFC, and Fairfax Financial Holdings. Erstwhile MD & CEO of National Collateral Management Services Limited (NCMSL), Mr. Kaul is the serving Chairman NCMSL and NCMSL Finance in majorly a non-executive capacity. He is an active Member of the agricultural Councils of leading Industry bodies such as CII and FICCI. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and writes extensively in diverse fields. Also endowed with altruistic qualities, Mr. Kaul undertakes pro-bono work for underprivileged and orphaned children.

 

Ms. Kamna Prasad, Member

Multi-faceted media personality for three decades, Ms. Kamna Prasad has dedicated herself to the promotion of India’s composite cultural heritage through numerous path breaking media campaigns and cultural initiatives. She is the founder of the Jashn-e-Bahar Trust and has been a member of the Governing Body of Urdu Academy, Delhi. Not only has Ms. Prasad produced ‘Dastan-e-Urdu’ – a 13 part docu-darama series on the story of Urdu language for Doordarshan, but also has worked with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for promoting Indo-Persian cultural ties in the field of literature through Symposia, stage shows and specially curated exhibitions. Her new productions include the dastangoi show ‘Karbala se Kashi tak and Dastan-e-Marsiya ’. Ms. Prasad works ceaselessly towards promoting and nurturing the cultural heritage and syncretic values of modern India..

Ms. Shobhana Bhartia, Member

Media baroness Ms. Shobhana Bhartia serves as chairperson and editorial director for India's largest listed media company, HT Media, publisher of the English- and Hindi-language dailies Hindustan Times and HT Mumbai, and the business paper Mint. Ms. Bhartia is a strong advocate of women empowerment, and has been actively involved in promoting the interests of young women entrepreneurs. She has served on the boards of several Indian corporations, including GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Indian Hotels Company, and Larsen & Toubro. Ms. Bhartia has also been associated with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Planning Commission of India. 

Ms. Anjum Chopra, Member

Ms. Anjum Chopra is foremost name in Women’s Cricket. Former skipper of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, Ms. Chopra is a cricket analyst and the first woman 'sportscaster' on television in India. She holds the distinction of leading India in its first ever International Test Series win and is the most successful Indian Test Skipper. Making her debut at an early age and with a career spanning over 17 years, Anjum has scaled many great heights having played six World Cups. She is the first woman player to appear in 100 One Day International’s for India besides being the first Indian woman player to score a century. A Padma Shri recipient in 2014 and an Arjuna Award winner in 2007, Anjum has co-authored a coffee table book titled 'Women’s Cricket World- A Journey from 1745- 2013’, and acted in a docudrama- 'Poor Cousins of Million Dollar Babies'. A player, captain, consultant, motivational speaker, author, actor Ms. Chopra has worn many hats. Being a perfectionist she has been successful in elevating women sports. She also gains the honour of becoming the first woman cricketer from India to be awarded an honorary life membership of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), Lords, London. .
