Ms Veena Sangar, the Vice Principal of the School, is a postgraduate in English Literature from Delhi University where she also started her teaching career at Jesus and Mary College before moving on to school teaching. Through a career spanning close to twenty years, she has taught students across junior, middle and senior levels and in such diverse cities as Jabalpur, Mumbai, Delhi (DPS Vasant Kunj) and Los Angeles. Before taking on the mantle of Vice Principal, Ms Sangar was Headmistress of the Junior School wing.
Ms Sangar’s vivacity and love for being with children helps bring great joy and passion to whatever she undertakes. Her zest for travel has inculcated an appreciation for diverse cultures and value systems. A high academic achiever, Ms Sangar subscribes to a strong work ethic and believes that the road to success is paved with honesty and hard work. She also believes that education is about developing the minds, hearts and souls of the students so that they are free to become their best selves; and that the magic is to be found not in any specific curriculum but in our optimism and our readiness to believe in each child.
Ms Leena Singhal, Headmistress Primary School, is a post graduate in English Literature from Lucknow University. She joined as the Pre-Primary Coordinator after eighteen years of experience, teaching students at Primary and Middle levels at DPS Vasant Kunj. Since 2016 she has spearheaded the Primary Wing of the school.
Ms. Aparna Chandra is a professional educator with 23 years of teaching and administrative experience. She has been associated with the DPS family throughout her career which spans over two decades. During her professional stint she has held multiple positions ranging from pre-primary teaching to supervision of the Middle, Primary and Pre-Primary wings and also as a School Counsellor. With double masters degree in English and Psychology, Bachelors in education and certificate holder in Guidance and Counselling, her repository of educational qualifications have contributed largely to her growth as an academician.
Smita Sharma Dabas, Head, Teacher Resource Centre is an experienced English teacher and administrator with an overall teaching experience of 20 years. She is a post graduate in English from Hansraj College, Delhi University and also did her M.Ed from CIE, Delhi University. She is also NET qualified in Education.
She looks after the Professional Development and Capacity Building of the DPSSL teaching fraternity from Nursery to XII.Recipient of Teacher Excellence Award 2013 by Lions Club Delhi, Appreciation Award by President, Rotary Club of Delhi Rohini 2014-15 and 2017-18, congratulatory note by the HRD Ministry; she also has been a part of curriculum development for English CBSE-I and the core committee for Syllabus Reduction and Moderation for English by the Delhi Government. She boasts of being an author, poet, blogger and book reviewer for Hindustan Times Bookend Section. She helps the school in classroom observation, micro-planning,policy making and research processes at the Resource Centre.
