School Teacher honoured at prestigious Education Award 2018

Ms Neeru Gill, teacher of Delhi Public School Sushant Lok was awarded ‘Special Mention’ in ‘The Education Prize 2018 Creative Classrooms’ instituted by The Global Education & Leadership Foundation (tGELF). The award carries with it a Certificate of Merit and a cheque (INR 10,000/-) for Special Mention. Ms Gill won the award in the Non- Government Indian School Primary Category (Nursery - Class V).
The Education Award is an annual teacher award competition that recognizes innovations used by those teachers in their classrooms who have changed the ethos in their classrooms and have got their students excited about learning.
The theme this year was ‘Creative Classrooms’. In all there were 4 finalists in the category from all over the country. As part of the competition, teachers had to respond to questions supported with all relevant materials including photographs and lesson plans, as well as comments of school principal/parents, etc. Key considerations included innovative use of educational methodologies; expertise in guiding children to become critical thinkers and team players; use of technology to facilitate challenging collaborative projects and advance student innovation and creativity; and use of current aids and resources to develop students as global citizens.
The winners are selected after multiple and rigorous rounds of judging by eminent national and international educationists who form the jury panel. The school is proud of the recognition bestowed upon Ms Gill as one of the outstanding teachers of the country. We applaud her effort in successfully achieving her teaching objectives and congratulate her on the excellent work she is doing.
