Delhi Public School Sushant Lok hosted its second edition of ‘DPSSL MUN 2016 - Resolve to Evolve!’ on the 8th and 9th of July 2016. In all, 240 students from 19 schools from three different cities participated in the event alongwith 61 individual delegates.
With seven unparalleled committees, of which four had never been simulated before in an MUN, it was the school's endeavour to bring to the participants a perfect blend of the traditional, historic and futuristic issues to debate and discuss over two days. The focus was introspecting and questioning dogmatic beliefs for a better, brighter and more peaceful future. The seven committees were - United Nations General Assembly, United Nations Security Council, Historic United States Federal Reserve Bank (1998), Review Conference of the UNCTOC (United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime), Strategic Wing of the NATO-Russia Council, All India Political Parties Meet and the Flagship Committee and Milosevic’s Cabinet (1999).
The meet concluded with a rousing Valedictory Ceremony in which the Chief Guest was Ms. Naranzul Bayasgalal, Second Secretary Mongolian Embassy, Ministry of Green Development and Environment. She presided over the award ceremony and urged the children to become more inquisitive and contribute to the changing world.
