Republic Day Celebrations at Delhi Public School,Sushant Lok

Delhi Public school, Sushant Lok celebrated the 68th Republic Day of the nation in all eminence and earnestness on 25th January, 2017. A special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion. The programme began with a patriotic poem to present the true meaning of being a republic. The school choir sang a harmonious and enthusiastic song which moved the audience and kindled a spark in their hearts in the form of respect and pride for the nation. Next, India’s achievements and feats were extolled in the form of a fervid speech, by a student. The students staged a play illustrating how the Indian Constitution is a ‘Living Document’ and a framework of lofty ideals and laws safe guarding the interests of every citizen of the country. To conclude, the Principal, Ms. Sunita Nagpal gave an exhilarating speech highlighting the fact that India may have achieved its independence but it is the youth who has to live up to what the constitution expects of them, making India a completely developed and prosperous nation. The assembly finally came to an end  with the flag hoisting ceremony with the Pro-Vice Chairperson of the school, Ms.Meenakshi Singh Pathania  and the singing of the National Anthem with passion and pride.
