Investiture Ceremony held at DPS,Sushant LokJuly 20, 2016
The Senior Wing of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, celebrated its Investiture Ceremony on 18th July 2016, wherein 90 young leaders were sworn in as members of the Student Council for the session 2016-17. The auspicious ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr Vineet Joshi (IAS), former Chairman and Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Guest of Honour, Ms Meenakshi Singh Pathania, the Pro Vice Chairperson Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok.
The Principal, Ms Sunita Nagpal, welcomed the august gathering and congratulated the newly elected student leaders and urged them to become true leaders and lead by example. “Go for the significance of the deed, not success,” she advised.
The programme then commenced with a prayer dance dedicated to goddess Lakshmi in her different forms, seeking her bountiful blessings.
Following this, the school appointees led by Anushreshth Upadhaya (Head Boy), Ishita Soni (Head Girl), Prateek Satija (Vice Head Boy) and Mili Mathur (Vice Head Girl) marched on to the sonorous beats of the drums and took their positions onstage. The badges were pinned on all of them and they were inducted into the Student Council. Subsequently, they took a solemn pledge to discharge their duties and responsibilities with diligence, loyalty and dedication.
The auditorium reverberated with the inspiring school song ‘March Along and Celebrate’ as the entire student body sang, led by the school choir. In his address, the Chief Guest, Mr Vineet Joshi, lauded the student leaders for their outstanding accomplishment and urged them to honour the universal moral values and be the perfect role models for other students to emulate. He also gave away the Best House Trophy, which was bagged by Yamuna House, for the academic year 2015-16.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the Vice Principal Ms Veena Sangar.
