One Act Play – THE DAY THE CRAYONS QUITMay 03, 2017
On 27th April’2017, the young children of Dramatics Club of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, Gurugram presented a short One Act Play ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ – A colourful New York Times bestseller adapted into a theatrical production in the school auditorium. The School Principal, Ms. Sunita Nagpal welcomed the guests and parents and talked about the graduating journey of the children over one complete academic year 2016-17. The show was graced by the presence of Guest of Honour, Mr N.K.Singh, Former Member of Parliament, who had all the words of appreciation for the splendid performances of the little ones. He also appreciated the efforts of the Drama Coach Ms Tina Balachandran in putting up the play and cherished the visible self confidence of the children on stage.
30 young actors of 6-7 years made their debut in this production and set the stage ablaze with their colourful and vibrant performances. The play talks about a little girl Devika, who, when opens her crayon box to colour, finds stack of letters of different colours, protesting together: We Quit! The characters of Crayons created a colourful solution in this playful, imaginative story that left the audience laughing and applauding.
