About the School

Nestled in the heart of Gurgaon on a 4.67 acres campus, Delhi Public School Sushant Lok was commissioned in April 2005. Established under the aegis of Delhi Public School, Society, it has been recognized by the Directorate of Education, Haryana with affiliation to the Central Board of Secondary Education. Today its strength is over 3500 students & 200 teachers from classes Nursery to XII. With a high average aggregate score in Board Exams of above 84% year after year, DPSSL has made it to HT’s list of top schools in Gurgaon. It has been conferred the ISA Award by the British Council (2011-2014, 2015-2018) & the ASSOCHAM award for ‘Best School for Innovation and Value-Education’ in 2014.

Classes are housed in two child friendly buildings with large well ventilated, IT enabled smart classrooms. Meeting the needs of the students, the school offers sports and co-curricular facilities. A teacher-student ratio of 1:16 ensures individual attention and a personal touch in the process of education.

Committed to providing quality education which is rooted in Indian culture and values with an international dimension, the school sensitizes its students to becoming morally upright global citizens of tomorrow. A policy of inclusive education enables differently-abled children to get integrated into the mainstream, offering them value added services through a fully equipped learning centre. Principal – DPS Sushant Lok

Ms. Sunita Nagpal, Principal DPS, Sushant Lok is well known in Delhi NCRs education circuit as a forward thinking educator, an inspiring team leader and a school administrator par excellence.

She joined DPS, Sushant Lok 8 years ago. With over 27 years of experience as an educator of which 24 years have been spent in DPS schools, she has to her credit a vast range of teaching and administrative experience.

Recipient of the Face International Women Leadership Award 2017 and SoF Best Zonal Principal Award 2016-17, Mrs. Nagpal a post graduate in English Literature, Ms. Nagpal is an alumnus of Lady Sri Ram College for Women. Her untiring zest for life and greater good, reaffirms her faith in her profession. Her forte, she claims, is the personal touch she gives whether it is to teaching in class, interacting with parents or putting systems and practices in place.

Vice Principal

Ms Veena Sangar, the Vice Principal of the School, is a postgraduate in English Literature from Delhi University where she also started her teaching career at Jesus and Mary College before moving on to school teaching. Through a career spanning close to twenty years, she has taught students across junior, middle and senior levels and in such diverse cities as Jabalpur, Mumbai, Delhi (DPS Vasant Kunj) and Los Angeles. Before taking on the mantle of Vice Principal, Ms Sangar was Headmistress of the Junior School wing.

Ms Sangar’s vivacity and love for being with children helps bring great joy and passion to whatever she undertakes. Her zest for travel has inculcated an appreciation for diverse cultures and value systems. A high academic achiever, Ms Sangar subscribes to a strong work ethic and believes that the road to success is paved with honesty and hard work. She also believes that education is about developing the minds, hearts and souls of the students so that they are free to become their best selves; and that the magic is to be found not in any specific curriculum but in our optimism and our readiness to believe in each child.

Senior Headmistress

A post graduate in English from the University of Kolkata, Ms. Sinjini Roy has to her credit more than 20 years of experience in the field of education. During her career she has been associated with leading educational institutions of Kolkata and Delhi where she taught students of the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.

During her previous employments she executed the responsibilities of being a member of academic sub-committees, Chief Editor of school magazines, Examination In-charge and Head of the Department of English. As a Life Skills Trainer, equipped with formal training in the same, she has conducted sessions for senior students as well as workshops for teachers. With a keen interest in co-curricular activities she has trained students in elocution, debates and dramatics, for both intra-school and inter-school events. Her appointment as the Head Examiner by CBSE on multiple occasions has added to her fund of experience

She joined Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok , in the year 2009 and was given the responsibilities of the Examination In-charge and Co-ordinator of the Department of English. In her capacity as the Co-ordinator of International Programmes she has designed and executed collaborative projects with countries across the globe and student exchange programmes with France and Germany. She has also been instrumental in acquiring the International School Award instituted by British Council ,for her school.

In 2011 she took over as the Middle School Co-ordinator and in 2013 she became the Senior headmistress, with a goal of ensuring the holistic development of students placed under her care ,she has lead her team in taking the teaching learning experience beyond the walls of the classrooms

Primary Headmistress

Mrs Leena Singhal, Headmistress Primary school, is a post graduate in English Literature from Lucknow University. She joins us as the Pre-Primary Coordinator after eighteen years of experience teaching students at primary and middle levels at DPS Vasant Kunj. Her career began in Lucknow with teaching primary kids, but soon it transformed into a vision driven by passion. Her love for teaching and its potential to make a positive impact on a child's life specially so in the initial years of schooling has propelled her towards her involvement in effective management now. It is this aspect of teaching that she feels is the most rewarding and forms the core of her identity. To her teaching is one of those rare professions that keep your brain active and young, allowing you to continue your journey as a lifelong learner.

Pre-Primary Headmistress

Mrs. Aparna Chandra is a professional educator with 23 years of teaching and administrative experience. She has been associated with the DPS family throughout her career which spans over 2 decades. During her professional stint she has held multiple positions ranging from pre-primary teaching to supervision of the middle, primary and pre-primary wings and school counsellor. With double masters in English and Psychology, Bachelors in education and certificate holder in Guidance and Counselling, her repository of educational qualifications have contributed largely to her growth as an academician. As headmistress of the pre-primary wing, Mrs. Chandra aspires to cultivate an environment and culture conducive to the overall development of a child in its most impressionable years. 

DEAN - Academics

Ms.Rakhi Chopra is a Post Graduate in Physics from Delhi University with Degree in Education from Jamia Millia Islamia University. She has fourteen years of teaching experience that includes four years as the Class Representative of class XII since 2011. She joined DPS Sushant Lok in 2010. Ever since she started teaching in 2002, she has been teaching at PGT level. Her involvement with students is commendable. She has been working with great enthusiasm and dedication all these years. She has also worked with Time table department, as an Activity incharge and also as the Alumni Incharge of the school.  
She has attended a number of workshops both subject related and for overall development. She has been a part of two cultural exchange programme, one from the previous school to UK and other from DPSSL to Germany.  
She believes that it is very important to capture the child’s mind and mould his/her thought process for productive outcomes. Children are capable of doing the best in their unique way and the educators should encourage them to achieve it. Also she believes that it is important for the educators to encourage children to imbibe good moral values, aspiring for knowledge than to just be educated.
